Remember how I mentioned that I had a theme for the new year? Makeover??? Well, I am making some positive steps toward my physical makeover goal. Because of my interesting health situation, I am not going to go overboard with diet, but I am going to make some healthy changes. I am still drinking caffeine in various forms…hey if you kept waking up at 2 am several times a week, you would want some caffeine too. But, I am making changes, such as limiting myself to a max of 2 sodas a day.
I am also limiting my sugar (except the sodas, I know!), and just plan ole eating less. Sometime last year, I heard about this cookbook on some TV show….
Then, I found it super cheap at Marshalls, so I picked it up. I maybe made one of the recipes out of the book and then set it aside. Not really sure why…I just did. The basic premise of the book is that you cook using fruits and veggies “hidden” in the food. Now, my family doesn’t need me to hide their veggies, but it does seem like a healthier way to cook.
Anywho, yesterday I was reading on Kelly’s blog, Faithful Provisions how she was cooking up a big batch of the Applesauce Muffins, and how yummy they were. Hmmm…..my brain started going…
Last week I watched the movie Julie and Julia…and then I had an idea.
(I enjoyed the movie, by the way.)
I am going to make all the recipes in the “Deceptively Delicious” cookbook, and rate each one here on my blog. Whenever I want to try a new recipe, I prefer to find one that has some comments or a rating attached to it.
I am hoping that this will help me stay committed to healthy cooking, and that it might help you out as well!
I loved that movie too.. watched it last week sometime.. I can’t wait to read the blogs…
