I don’t think I mentioned fully about my back, or maybe I did… Anywho, I did something to back last week. I was having spasms all up and down my back, the pain from which wasn’t so much a problem as the effect the spasms had on the rest of my body. Whenever my back would spasm, it was constrict my lungs and make it hard for me to get a good breath, which made me dizzy and light-headed, which made me sick to my stomach, and also sometimes made my heart race a bit. Great way to spend Christmas (yeah right!).
Back to my point, I have been feeling so much better. I went back to the chiropractor on Monday and he said I was doing much better, and I felt better.
Until Tuesday. What happened on Tuesday? Well Bubba was at guitar lessons, and the other kiddos and I walked over to the grocery store to pick up a few things we had forgotten on our shopping day. So, we pick up Bubba from his lesson and head out to the van. We get to the van and I get the Littles in, and Bubba is putting his guitar in the back of the van. Mind you, this is the little red van we are driving right now, trying to sell…. this one…
know anyone who needs a van????? Sorry, I miss my big blue van and Mr. OverKill says I can have it back as soon as this one sells. I’m advertising or something :)
Back to my story. So, I walked around to the back of the van with the groceries I had bought and said “Bubba don’t shut the door!” Well, I think all he heard was “Shut the door!” and he jumped up and slammed the hatch-type door down right on top of my head. OUCH! Yeah it hurt, and it hurt my newly mended back as well. All seemed fine until about 5:30 while I was in Wal Mart I started getting a headache. No big surprise I thought, could be the giant knot on my head, or it could just be Wal Mart. So, I took some ibuprofen and Mr. OK and I went out for out date night. Well, while I was sitting at Chili’s I got overwhelemingly dizzy and I thought I was going to pass out. My head was still hurting, and now I was nauseated again. So, we left Chili’s post-haste and headed home. Now, I just wanted to go to bed, but Mr. OK didn’t think that was such a good idea. So, he had me call our friend the Dr. and he asked me a bunch of questions and then said, “Your going to be fine, but it sounds like you have a mild concussion.” A what now??? I freaked out a little and told Mr. OK, “I want my Mama”. I had never had a concussion and I was a tad frightened. After Mr. OK gave me a hard time about it, I called my Mom. She did the mom-thing and that made me feel somewhat better. Dr. Friend said that Mr. OK should wake me up at some point in the night and ask me a couple of questions to make sure I was OK. He wasn’t thrilled with that, since he hasn’t been sleeping so well, and was hoping to take a melatonin. But, he did and I am fine, or at least as fine as I ever am. Just really sleepy….hmm maybe I’ll go take a nap….
