So, I mentioned that I had created some lesson plans for a co-op lesson on Leonardo da Vinci, complete with Power Point. (Please don’t laugh at my Power Point skills, I was impressed I did that well!) I also mentioned that I might share, and I decided to do just that! Enjoy!

Basically, I went through and covered the bio info. at the top of the student’s notes. Then we talked about each invention and they wrote the name of each invention on the spaces provided at the bottom of the page. I also provided them with a coloring page of the Mona Lisa.
As well as some copies from this book:
Another great resource at Suite 101.
We also did 2 different hands-on activities, with the older kids we reproduced Leonardo’s parachute, and with the younger kiddos, we made clay from scratch and then tried to make a sculpture.
Clay recipie:
3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1/3 cup water
Mix and add food coloring if desired. Keeps up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
The directions for the parachute are simple and can be found in the Leonardo da Vinci for kids book.
