When we left Hershey, PA, we headed south to visit with friends in West Virginia. Along our way we encountered one more unexpected blessing. We were driving along the highway and came to this town nestled in the mountains. There was this awesome train station, and Mr. OverKill noticed that the engine on the train was an actual working steam engine. We pulled off at the next exit and wound our way back around to the train station. And there it was! We had to run so we could see the train before it pulled away. It was so awesome, Bubba was over the moon!!!
I was able to get a video of the train pulling out. It’s not the best, but we are glad to have it :)
After the train excitement, we finnaly pulled into our destination. The last time we visited our West Virginia friends, they had snow, and the kids went sledding for hours on their back hill. They tried to duplicate that experience, sans snow….
They had a ton of fun “sledding” down the hill again.
Then, the kiddos raked leaves….
And then proceeded to jump in them :)
Silly kids!
We all had a great time visiting….
The only complaint heard was that it was time to leave.
We almost had a stow away ;)
As we headed home, we stopped by northern Georgia to visit Mr. OverKill’s grandparents. Mr. OK travels to see them once a year, but the kids and I haven’t visited with them at their home for close to 7 years.
We had a great visit, and were glad to see how well the grands are doing.
Then began the long drive home, but we were happy to be headed south again. It was a long 10 days, but jam packed with fun and memories! We feel so blessed to have been able to take this trip. The kiddos are already talking about our next vacay….DC!
