Recently, Mr. OverKill and I took the kids to a railroad museum. It was very cool! They had an old sleeper car they were going to restore. We were able to walk through the car. Mr. OK and I both commented that they just don’t make things like they used to. Notice the fabric on the seat the kiddos are sitting on?
It’s the same stuff that they used to use in airplane seats. This stuff looked brand new (and it wasn’t, I know because we asked!) This car was built in the 40’s!
Mr.OverKill and the boys really enjoyed checking out all the couplings, etc.
What train museum would be complete without an engine to climb on?
Then, the moment we were all waiting for…. Train Ride!!!!
The engine pulled up and attached to our car.
The couplings are crazy big!
And then we were off. It was a nice short ride, about a total of 45 minutes. They took us down to their restore yard where they keep trains like these for restoration.
It was such a fun and relaxing day!
