Several weeks ago, Mr. OverKill surprised us with a quick weekend getaway to Tampa. We found a great deal online for a hotel room, and hit the road.
The kids loved the fact that the room was up so high….
and right by the airport.
Bubba was still in his “Don’t take my picture phase.”
But Sugar Belle was willing to pose, quickly, before we took advantage of the hotel’s swimming pool.
Ha, got one of him anyway ;)
We really needed this time away as a family. Life has been so busy and quite difficult at times.
The next morning, when we left the hotel we found dozens of these tiny little crabs. Aren’t they cute?
After a quick breakfast, we headed over to MOSI. The kiddos and I have been looking forward to seeing the Mummies exhibit.
Before. Don’t they look excited?
After. Oh. My. Word. If I could do it over again, we would not have gone into this exhibit. It was too much for the kids. It was quite an extensive exhibit, and about half way through, we opted to bail out. I don’t know why it hadn’t dawned on me before…but I didn’t think that ALL the mummies were going to be unwrapped. I thought they were going to be…mummies, you know wrapped mummies. Sigh….Epic fail.
I left the exhibit praying that God would not allow my foolish choice to negatively impact the kiddos. I had visions of nightmares…
But isn’t God good? We also purchased a pass to the Sky Trail, which we did immediately after the Mummies. It was awesome! It completely took the kiddos minds off the mummies, and we really haven’t had any negative repercussions thus far, thank the Lord.
Mr. OverKill took the kiddos up on the ropes course initially, while I snapped some pics.
Bubba really took off on this thing and I believe he completed all three levels.
Shug enjoyed it as well, and completed the first and second level. Only time prevented her from completing the third.
This guy….this guy scared his mother to death on several occasions. He completed all three levels with the exception of one course, which Mr. OverKill prevented him from completing.
And Tootle Bug, she had a blast cruising around the first and second levels.
As for The Frazzled Mama and the ropes course, I can proudly say that I completed most of the first level after discovering that I have developed a fear of heights.
Yeah.
