Last week we had a dinner party at my place. I wanted to share photos of the dinner table with you all because I couldn’t believe how nice the whole thing turned out! I believe I may have spent a total of $6.00 on the supplies for this table. Granted I have the huge benefit of having a mother who has lots of great entertaining things and freely lets me borrow them (thanks mom!).
So, here’s the breakdown: I borrowed some old chargers from my mom and gave them a fresh coat of paint. I also painted the inside of 4 mason jars, which I had on hand, for the vases. After searching high and low, I couldn’t find any flowers for the vases in this lovely pinky-peach color, so I ended up making them out of scrapbooking paper, found on clearance at Michaels for $.39.
The table runner is actually a shade my co-host repurposed! The frayed edge napkins were made from a bit of fabric I had purchased several years ago, but never used – blush. Everything else, my co-host and I had on hand.
Isn’t it neat what you can pull together from what you have on hand with a little sprucing and creativity?
You’re so clever! I love it!
My mom has a great burlap table runner that she made, and your repurposed shade reminds me of that.
Love the blue chargers, too!!
I LOVE the look of burlap, but not the smell. Does her’s have an odor? I would love to know if she had a trick for reducing the smell.
