Recently, I have admired someone from afar. She has this uncanny ability to show love to anyone and everyone. Each person she encounters feels loved and appreciated.
I am not like this person.
I wish I was like this person.
I have thought many times about asking her how she does it. But she is busy and I am busy…and sometimes it’s hard to ask people to take time to teach and mentor you. I kept thinking, “Okay the next time I see her, I will ask.”
Yeah…
Then, one day I wondered if I should ask the Lord to teach me. He is the Great Teacher after all, isn’t He? So, I asked the Lord to teach me how to be more loving. I asked Him to teach me how to be a blessing and an encouragement to those I come into contact with.
I can see where he is teaching, and I am learning. And then I wondered, “Why haven’t I ever asked God to teach me something before…”
I ask for wisdom. I ask for grace. I ask for love.
Duh!
Jesus is repeatedly called “Teacher” throughout the scriptures. Isn’t it funny how when we want to learn something “spiritual” that we immediately think of our Pastor, a friend, or even Google :)
I want to challenge you (and myself) to seek the Great Teacher. Ask for His instruction for your life and for specific things that you are struggling with. You will be amazed at what you learn!
