This past week my wonderful husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We are such romantic poeple, and just to prove our point, we were married on Valentine’s Day. Wow, and such a romatic wedding ceremony, candlelit….hmmm let’s see if we have a picture..nope sorry our wedding was predigital, and I do not have a flatbed scanner. Sorry!
So, my sweet loving mother had my children stay with her for 4 night and 5 days. So, anyone else would make BIG plans right? Not us. We ran errands on our anniversary…I’m talking dentist, business, scrap yard errands. Man we were livin’ it up. The neat thing about our relationship is that we really don’t need to have big plans, we just really enjoy being together, even if our time is spent hiking through a scrap yard looking for pieces of 12″ pipe. So, we realized that we were being kind of pathetic, so we decided to put our name on the wait list at Carrabba’s and go bowling. We really did have a blast. Oh, I am sure that he wants all of cyper space to know, that my sweet husband totally beat me at bowling.
What’s that you say? What kind of wonderfully romantic gift did I recieve for our 10th wedding anniversary? Well he looked at a pair of $10k earrings. Similar to these beauties…
Then he came to his senses.
He came home from the jewelry store and asked me if I even wanted them. I said “Hmmm it’s a nice thought, but I think I would probably end up loosing them”. Well, we went and looked at a jewelry store for something for me. I think our friend the sales lady was really frustrated with me beacuse I kept saying “Mmm no.” It really floored her when I said ” You know Honey the washer has been taking long walks across the laundry room lately. Maybe a washing machine would be the best option”. After my Loving Husband picked the sales lady up off the floor. He said
“See that’s why I married her”.
And so, after MUCH deliberation, I am the proud owner of a Whirlpool Duet front loading washer.
Isn’t it pretty? Man I can shove so many clothes in this thing! The first load I washed had 5 days and 4 nights worths of the kiddo’s clothes, and all of our clothes from our 5 childfree days. So far I absolutly LOVE this washer. It has so many wonderful features, large capacity, water and energy savings, and the biggest perk of all,
entertainment value!
A funny thing happened when Mr. Wonderful brought our new washer home. He asked me if this particular big box store usually gives your check back to you. Well, he was referring to the new practice of electronifying a check. I asked him if he had to sign anything and he said no. So, I looked at the check and sure enough the cashier had returned his check to him. Wow! A free washer, you can’t beat that. Just kidding, I told him that he was going to need to take the check back to the store. Well, it was too late that night, so he planned to go the next day after work. Bright and early the next morning we recieved a phone call from the big box store asking if we had our check. I said yes we did, my husband thought the cashier had electronifyied the check. Meanwhile, I am trying to figure out how they knew our names. She said they watched the security tapes and saw the cashier give the check back, and they looked up who my husband was, from the tape!!!!! That is just a tad bit scary to me.
Big Box Store is watching.
So I think love comes in many forms, like the deep and passionate love I have for my husband. The sweet, protective love I have for my children. The wow, those are the brownest, saddest, puppy eyes I have ever seen love. And, of course, the slightly insane love a person can have for a household appliance.
