Today the kiddos and I went to an aviation expo. Bubba read about it in our local newspaper, and just had to go!
He had two main goals for the day, to see the Maverick (and by some miracle sit in it) and to hear Darrell Collins* speak on the Wright brothers.
Well, here’s number one, all four kiddos got to sit in the Maverick.
Bubba was quite the tour guide today telling the Littles about the different kids of planes, various landing gears, and so on.
They all had a great time watching all the different experimental planes take off and land.
They were each able to fly a very realistic simulator.
And sit in a really cool race car.
I’m a little worried about Tootle Bug’s face in this one….yikes!
Little Man really liked this Cub that was able to land on water or land, with just the flip of a switch.
Tootle Bug started to loose interest around 2:15….can you tell?
At 2:30, Bubba was able to hear Darrell Collins speak. Not only that, but they were able to help with his presentation, and speak with hi afterwards. He was very personable and interested in the kids and their questions.
It was a great day!
*Darrell Collins is Kitty Hawk Museum Curator, and was introduced as one of the top five most knowledgeable people on the Wright Brothers.
