Today did not go exactly as planned. We did about half of our school before leaving the house to run a few errands. When those errands were completed, I dropped the kids off at my Mom’s office and headed out for a lunch date with Mr. OverKill. He wasn’t quite ready…for an hour. So, our date ran later than I thought it would. After I picked up the children I planned to run 3 quick errands, emphasis on the quick.
Ha and Ha!
The first errand went pretty well as did the second, sadly the third led to a forth! You see, I needed cardstock. Yes, needed. It was required for a project for Bubba and Sugar Belle’s writing program. So, I stopped at my favorite big box office supply store, and they were out! How can an office supply store not have cardstock???? I was a tad put out, can you tell :)
Thus, leading to my fourth errand, going to my least favorite big box office supply store. They had cardstock, yeah! I also had a coupon for their store which gave me $10 off a $20 purchase. So, I grabbed some much needed duo-tangs, and began rummaging through the clearance in order to get to that magic $20. I was still a little put out about my errands running longer than I planned when I went up to the checkout, but then a neat thing happened. One of the things I picked up in the clearance aisle were a handful of pencil sharpeners, marked 50 cents each. I figured I could stick them in OCC shoeboxes this fall. Wouldn’t you know it, the pencil sharpeners rang up for 5 cents each! Well, you know me, I ran back to the clearance aisle and bought all that they had, a total of 29!
What seemed like an imposition to my schedule ended up being an opportunity for me to stock up on an very necessary item for our shoeboxes, which will hopefully be a blessing. And for only a nickel a piece!!!
For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

And He delights in his way.

I need to remember that the Lord is ordering my steps, especially the ones I haven’t planned!
