This Christmas season I am determined to make sure that our family is blessing others. As I have prayed about how to do this, an idea began to take shape in my mind. It started with the notion that we could somehow help decorate a nursing home. I decided to put out a request on Facebook and Free cycle for any unused Christmas items people might be willing to share. Who could have imagined that that simple request would blossom into a full blown, 14 kid project?!?! A couple other moms heard about what I was planning and asked if they could join us.
Yesterday, our project really began to take shape. Using the donated Christmas items I received, these 14 precious kids decorated 18 wreaths to take to a local nursing home, that is specifically for retired missionaries.
They did such a fantastic job, and all the wreaths came out beautifully.
Ham bone!
That’s better!
And Mister “I’m 12 now, so stop taking my picture already mom.”
What a fun time we had! Right now we are scheduled to deliver the wreaths on Tuesday morning. While we are there, the children will also be giving a concert to the residents on their various instruments. We are so excited and are greatly looking forward to visiting with these precious saints.
