I’ve been thinking about Ephesians 5:15-17 for a week or so. So much, that I made this little graphic and placed a copy on my kitchen window.
What a great encouragement and admonishment to modern-day Christians! I need this reminder. We must remember to live our lives PURPOSEFULLY! We must make the most of every opportunity to show God’s love to a dying world. But what I like the most about this passage, it the last verse, “Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” When we don’t know what the Lord wants us to do, we are acting thoughtlessly. How humbling is that?
Now the question arises, “How do I know what God wants me to do?” Simple, we must spend time daily studying God’s Word, praying and meditating. I know, many Christians shy away from the word “meditating” because of it’s negative connotations in association with new age philosophy. However, the Bible is full of verses that encourage the believer to “be still and know that I am God.”
My encouragement to you today is to change your actions, and be diligent to understand how the Lord wants to use your life.
