Remember how I said I had been inspired by Pinterest? Well, I found these cute punkins, and really wanted to make them.
A week or so after I saw these cuties, Mr. OverKill was heading out to the orange big box store. He asked if I needed anything…and of course I blurted out, “Oh yeah, a 2×4.” He kind of looked at me with this funny expression, shrugged and left. Guess what? He bought me a 2×4! Then, when I was picking up the kiddos from my mom’s office last week, I noticed some burnt orange paint she had leftover. I asked if I could have it, and she said, “Sure!” Yee=haw, now I had wood and paint. A few days later, RW finally brought Mr. OK’s saw back to our house, and I was able to make my punkins.
The best part of this project? Having two cute little helpers :)
I thought the punkins would look very cute on the decorative ladder I have by my front door. It’s been sorely neglected for way too long.
Check ‘em out!
Because I had enough wood, I made a set to put by my back door (which is used more often than my front door). We have a gate that swings towards this wall, and I’ve always had a hard time finding decorative items to place by the back door. These were perfect because I can line them up, flush against the wall, and the gate never touches them!
I also made a pair to put on the window ledge of my kitchen/carport window.
So cute…and it really is fun to work on these kinds of projects.
