I don’t usually like to talk about my birthday here on the blog. It seems tacky, maybe??? Or self-centered, or bragging…I don’t know.
Any who, I just had to share this year, because I think this has been one of the best birthdays ever! And really, I am just bragging on my family. So, here it is.
My kiddos made me breakfast in bed. So sweet.
Then, they helped me make my gluten free chocolate ganache cupcakes.
Oh… they were so yummy, and if I may say, much prettier than any other ganache cake I’ve made.
We went to lunch with mom….and then the kiddos took me bowling. Fun!
For dinner, the family got together for dinner at my favorite restaurant. It was the best birthday dinner hands down. Usually when you take a group of 18 out to eat….it’s crazy, long wait, messed up food orders, etc. But you know, Mr. OverKill and I literally eat at this place once a week on date night. It’s inexpensive, the service is over the top, and they are so careful about keeping my food gluten free. When we asked about reserving 1/3 of the their small restaurant and they heard why, they made special accommodations for us. They even brought out dessert, a gift for the birthday people. (If you haven’t been reading long, I should mention that my dad and I share a birthday:)
We came back to our place for dessert,
Dad gave me roses…incredible roses…
that smell amazing.
My kiddos and Mr. OK gave me some really thoughtful gifts….
Yes, I have had a life-long popcorn obsession.
More cups with lids! These have been really awesome for me. The lid on the Tervis cup closes, so it helps reduce my risk of cross contamination. For example on a road trip to Miami, where cookies were involved ;) (Love ya Sis!)
And then, my family…they are so awesome and thoughtful….my family, Mom and Dad, My Sis and her crew, Mr OK, my gram, my brother, and my cuz got me a set of these…..
And these….
Look familiar????
How about THESE?!?!?!
They all went in together and got me the dishes I saw last weekend! I still can’t believe it!
I love you guys! You’re the best!
What a great day! I had low expectations, since Little Man had been throwing up the day before….Yeah, I figured I would be thrown up upon at some point on my birthday, so you could definitely say the day exceeded my expectations!
