This week the girls performed for the first time with the Young Artist String Orchestra(YASO). Tootle Bug was asked to join by her violin instructor (who is also the YASO conductor) in September. Then, Sugar Belle was asked to help with percussion. Now, Shug is enamored with the cello, and wants one for Christmas – yikes!
Anywho, Thursday night they had their First Annual Christmas Extravaganza. The girls really enjoyed it, as did the audience. All the kids played so well. True to her name, The Frazzled Mama remembered her camera, but forgot her SD card. Thankfully we had several sets of grandparents in attendance, so I do have this photo, courtesy of Nana :)
On Friday, the YASO also played a free concert our local mall. Again, everyone did very well, and this time I remembered my camera AND my SD card.
I couldn’t manage to get any really good pictures, the lighting on the stage was….difficult.
Blurry, I know but SO cute with the hat….
Serious concentration..watching the conductor. Except that Sugar Belle wasn’t watching the conductor, she watching the other percussionist. She “mothered” him to death!
Here’s most of YASO, my shorties can’t be seen in this one, but all the other kids can, and of course their fearless conductor!
The girls are really enjoying being part of the YASO, and it is neat to see them working together with kids of all ages, to make beautiful music. Even better is that their conductor frequently reminds them that their talents are gifts from God, and should be used to glorify Him.
If you would like to learn more about the YASO, you can find them on the web.
