So, yes I am posting a little late, but remember, that’s life! Things have been a tad crazy around here…so…yeah.
How are your kitchens coming along? Mine is a VERY pleasant place to work create. I will be posting my before and after pictures on the Flickr group late this evening.
Now, week four…I think you are going to love this.
The first item on the agenda is…….catching up! :) Is there something you didn’t quite get to over the last 3 weeks? If not, you rock! If so, you are in good company…..my oven did not get cleaned yet. However, it’s going to happen tomorrow morning! I think. So, please catch up with me!
The final item on the agenda for our Fall kitchen challenge is to start planning. I don’t know about you, but starting the week of Thanksgiving, there is a lot of baking going on around here. So, I thought it would be a good idea to pull out our calendars and see what’s coming. Some things you can plan on, for example, holiday parties, gifts, traditional foods etc. Make a list of all the ingredients you are able to anticipate needing through the entire holiday season. In an independently wealthy world, we would just go out and buy all our supplies this week and be ready for the holidays. However, I live in Frazzled Mama Land, where we will be watching the sale flyers for the items on my list, and stocking up as I find a good bargain. For those of us on a tight budget, this is a great way to stretch your dollar.
Years ago I made a master list of ingredients I need to make all my Christmas goodies. Boy has it come in handy! I keep it in a page protector in my recipe binder(more on that later). Now, this list is specifically for Christmas goodie baskets, but you could adapt the idea to your specific needs. Maybe you don’t bake, but you do throw a holiday dinner party, this idea is easily adaptable.
I hope you all have enjoyed the Fall kitchen challenge as much as I have!!!
