In the latest round of bunkbed vs Frazzledmama, I have emerged victorious. Bunkbeds, a wonderful space saving invention… but can I just say that changing the sheets on them borders on tourture for the poor soul (read that the Frazzledmama) who has the task of changing the sheets. I think you should have to have some kind of acrobatic training before purchasing bunk beds. Of course my lousy attitude about the beds has nothing to do with the fact that I waited until the last minute before changing the sheets, at the end of a long day that consisted of going out of town ALL DAY LONG.
Perhaps they should also come with a marriage counselor. Everytime my dear husband is around and I start changing the sheets, we have a very interesting conversation:
FM: I hate changing these sheets!!!! I hate these bunks beds!!!
DH: Thanks a lot (He’s offended because he built the bunk beds).
FM: Don’t take it personally, but everytime I have to change the sheets it kills my back.
DH: Would you like me to do it?
FM: (Ever the overachiever) NO THANK YOU, I will do it myself.
DH: Dear are you sure?
and then it gets ugly and he goes to bed in a huff, and now I must go and apologize.
OK, I am back and all is right in the world again.
Seriously though I think we, as humans, could come up with a solution for bunk bed sheet changing… I have already reduced them to no top sheet, and I have made several blankets that are smaller than a standard twin so that they fit better on the bed. But gosh couldn’t we come up with something that doesn’t ever have to be changed? Sorry, I know I am being ridiculous now. We can grow ears on mice, but not invent sheets that don’t need to be changed.
Have a blessed day – don’t change the bunk bed sheets! :)
haha!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! despite the space saving value of our bunk beds……….i HATE them!!!!!!!! changing the sheets is horrible and rediculous sooooooooooooooo i don’t change them unless somebody wets the bed. how sad is that??? my dear mother changed my sheets practically every 4-5 days and my kids are about once a month…….actually prob every other month………yup, call hrs on me!
