I try to take an hour or so on Saturday to get our schooling plans setup for the week. Right now I am trying out a new system, which we have been using for about 2 weeks. It seems to be working well for us. What I do is get all the paperwork items that I need for each child together, and then place them in a file folder for the day of the week that we will be using those items. Each child has a brown accordion file that all the folders go in, so they stay together.
There are a few things that are ready to go and just get placed in the folder. Other things, like handwriting, I need to print, and for history I usually make a few copies. For the time being I am typing out lessons for Bubba and Sugar Belle’s language programs. It’s a bit time consuming, but such is life.
I was finding that I needed more organization to my day as I now have 3 official homeschoolers, and one “flying under the radar.” :)
I also relocated my resource books so that I could see them better, and have what I need at my fingertips….so far, so good.
They are even organized by subject….yeah me!
These two bins hold the books we use everyday in our homeschool. The orange index cards (one of my favorite things) Tell me what we need to do for history and science, each day of the week.
You can see on the right there, I keep the weekly folders.
I know, I look organized. Let see if I can keep things working this way, and not revert back to my “Oh shoot, what are we doing today” ways. :)
