My Stubborn Nefew wanted a marble cake…for his 9th birthday… I love it! So, I thought I would share with you how I make marble cake. Just in case someone out there doesn’t know how….
Start with one vanilla cake mix, and one chocolate…your choice or recipes or box mixes. Prepare the batter as usual.
Now, I found it helpful to put my prepared cake pan in between the 2 bowls holding my different cake mixes…
Now, we are going to add the batter to the pan. I use a big ladle. Start with whichever mix makes you feel special (it really doesn’t matter).
Don’t cover the pan evenly, rather be a little messy and just blob it around. This is my kind of baking!
Next, add the other batter and try to fill in some of the areas that have no batter. Again, be a little messy. Continue to fill the pan in this manner until you have used all your batter.
Now, to make it look “marbley”. (Don’t you love it when I make up words?) Using something similar to a skewer (I used a paintbrush) drag the skewer through the batter…I try to stick with going in one direction, but that’s just me.
I think it’s pretty….
And yummy!
And now, off for a treat…. lunch with the family!
