Looks pretty typical right? But my fridge is special because it holds something very special for me. Well, ok, other than all the food…It holds scripture for me. See?
A few years ago I realized that I stood in front of my fridge a lot during the day. Getting drinks for kiddos, making meals, staring out into oblivion… What was I saying? Right! So, I started putting verses up on my fridge on index cards. I would just tape them right up there. Sticky notes, I have tried (you see a couple there) but I usually end up having to tape them as well. The best thing I have found are the index cards that have the sticky on the back. Wonderful things for fridge Bible verses.
Last year, I started to feel bad about not having more time to sit each day and read my Bible. But, you know what, I have learned so much from my fridge verses. I think about them throughout the day, most of them I have memorized. As I see them throughout the day, it makes me think more often about the verses and what they are talking about, and applications to my life. It has by far been one of the biggest helps in my daily walk with the Lord. They don’t replace time spent reading daily, but when you are a busy homeschooling mom to 4 children born in a span of 5 years, you take what you can get! A dear older lady once told me that the Lord honors that 2 minutes that I grab to sit stand and meditate on His word.
So funny.. I was just doing some blog catch up and so funny I should send you a a pic of my fridge of the one verse I could read I have the SAME one on my fridge! Pr 29:17
HA ha!
Yeah, that one is written with a Sharpie. I need to be able to see it at ALL times :)
