As taught to me be many loving friends and family. I officially declare that most of the ideas in this post are not my original ideas.
This is all my camping stuff…
It stays neatly stacked and organized in these lovely green bins. Each one is labeled and contains a seperate set of stuff for camping. This way, when we want to go camping, we basically load these up in the van, pack food and clothes and we are off.
This is my small kitchen bin, it contains seasonings, silverware, utensils, etc…
A closer look :)
We also have a bin for toys for the kids, a food bin (not pictured), blankets and towels,
toiletries,
more kitchen stuff…
It makes tent camping much easier!
I do believe it took me less than an hour to load up all the essentials for camping this time. I had a couple of shampoo bottles explode on me, and I needed to sterilize the toothbrushes. All in all, not too bad!
As you can see we have just enough room to add the cooler and 2 laundry baskets with clothes. While at the campsite, the bins with the food, kitchen stuff, the cooler, and toiletries stay in the van to keep out racoons. The van doubles nicely as a pantry :)
When I loaded the cooler this time, I tried something new (this was my brain-child). I froze 6 gallons of water, and then put one at each corner of the cooler.
My thought was to not have to deal with melting ice. It worked out well, but be sure to open and remove some of the water before freezing, or the plastic may split, and you will end up with water in your cooler anyway. I know of what I speak :)
The other 2 gallons, I set in a small wash tub to let thaw, so we could have ice-cold water when we arrived.
So there you have it camping 101.
