A couple of years ago I found this great wooden round table at a second hand store.
It fit perfectly in our school room! I really wanted something that I didn’t have to worry about the kiddos ruining. That way, they could paint, color and play dough to their hearts content.
She’s excited about it…
Using some heavy vinyl material (purchased at Wally World) as a tablecloth, gave that added security to let the kiddos run wild – where the table was concerned. In fact, that is why I am not in any big hurry to replace the floors in this room. They are “safe.”
Back to the table. I added a few things under the tablecloth…
Little Man’s side of the table is still a tad bare, but what can I say, my printer ran out of ink.
So, right now I have the kiddos current memory verses for their Wednesday Night Club. As well as, some reference materials…
I really like the printable I have here for money…
I picked that up from a great site called Lapbook Lessons.
You can find that money reference sheet in the “Mini-offices” under Math.
So, even if you don’t have a “school table”, or a homeschooler, clear tablecloths can be a very cool tool at your breakfast table…think of the possibilities…
Teaching kids how to properly set the table? Give them a guide…under the tablecloth.
Missionary Prayer cards – what a great way to remember to pray for our missionaries.
Family photos – living far away from family? Keep the kids up to speed on family members names.
Calendar – this time around I want to add a calendar to our table. That way the kids can see for themselves what’s on the agenda for the day.
We’ve also had pictures of animals we were studying, or cars we were studying or maps of places we were studying…under the tablecloth….
Think about it!
