This year, thanks to Doctor Who, my boys agreed to wear red bow ties for our annual Christmas card photo. I am so excited and pleased with how these pictures came out! We headed out on a Sunday evening, during the sweet light time, to find a great location for our shoot. I know, I really should have planned a location, but what ended up happening was awesome!
As we drove around downtown I had in my mind that we needed a brick wall. We circled through downtown, but couldn’t really find a nice looking brick wall with good lighting. Then, we turned the corner as I saw the fire station. I gasped and said, “That’s it! The fire station! The doors are perfect!” Mr. OverKill thought I was nuts as usual, but he piled over and we all piled out of the van.
Mr. OK wanted to just do the pictures, but I felt like we needed to ring the bell and at least get permission. I mean, that’s the last thing I need, all the kiddos getting run over by a fire truck heading out on a call! So we rang the bell and 2 of the nicest firemen came out. I told them what we wanted to do, and they said it was no problem. Then, one of the guys said, “If you want I can open the door to the truck and they can get pictures there too.” Um, yeah!!!!
I am really tickled with how well these came out. Okay, without further ado, here are the photos from our 2014 Christmas Card photo shoot.
And the card…..
I hope that you and yours are having a blessed Christmas! I am keenly aware of the heartache and suffering going on in so many of your lives, and I am praying especially for you today!
Love and hugs!
