I found out earlier this week that Home Depot was running a special on mulch, 99 cents a bag! We have been wanting to do some improvements to our yard, including new sod and extending the front garden to cover an area that doesn’t get enough sun to consistently grow grass. So, with the mulch being on sale I really wanted to at least buy the mulch and have it on hand for when we were ready to work on the garden. Well, I went out investigating Saturday morning and found the Lowe’s was also running a similar sale. They also had reduced the price of their concrete edging bricks. With the money I had set aside for the yard, I was able to get the bricks and the mulch. So, I decided to try to get the project going!
Here is my front yard, before I started. Lovely dead from winter grass and all!
Isn’t it funny how the weeds still grow????
And here is how my project turned out….
We are hoping to replace the table and chairs with a beautiful swing Mr. OverKill has at the shop.
I had some pansies that I bought on my Mental Health Day, hat I finally got in the ground.
At the end of the day, I decided to go ahead and thin out the vegetable garden. I had a ton of plants left over, and then I realized I could plant them in the front yard, in the HUGE garden I just made!
Cabbage…
and broccoli. Yum!
So Cool.
