Wow! Can I just tell you how busy the month of May is around this place??? I can’t even believe that it’s been since the first week of May that I posted anything new here on the blog.
In addition to a Mother’s Day beach trip and Teachers Appreciation week, we also have a plethora of birthdays including mine, my father’s, Little Man’s and my Nephew’s, who turned 16 this year!
Wow!
We’ve also had state music competitions, 4H district competitions, dance recitals, and orchestra concerts….and now it’s all done!
Woo Hoo! The kids did great with all their various competitions. Bubba, Sugar Belle, and Tootle Bug all took grand champion/purple ribbon’s on their 4H demonstrations. Bubba and Sugar Belle took first place at the FACCS State Fine arts competition in cello and classical guitar.
I realized this year that Sugar Belle has been dancing for 10 years. What?!?! And always with this fabulous lady!
Additionally, and I’m totally not complaining, just stating that it has added to our busyness, my kiddos planned Saturday dates with me all month long for my birthday.
It has been so special, and I am a little sad that this Saturday will be my last date, wrapping up the month with Little Man.
They each put quite a bit of thought into our time spent together, picking my favorite activities!
After this whirl-wind month, we are finally taking some time off from school, 2 whole weeks. It makes a homeschool mom want to jump up and down and shout “Yippee!!!”
I am so thankful that the Lord has given direction to Mr. OverKill and I in regards to the raising of our children. I cannot take credit for their awesome talents, and their loving thoughtfulness, these are things that God is carefully cultivating in their lives in spite of their mother. No matter what I do, my efforts are nothing without Christ and His sacrifice. When God looks on me, the only good He sees in me, is a result of Christ’s blood’s cleansing work in my life. My wisdom is foolishness without Him, and I will be eternally grateful for His direction in my life, and in my kiddos lives.
