The great thing about homeschooling is when you need a break, you have the flexibility to take one. You have that option, even though not everyone takes it. We did a few weeks ago. Bubba loaded up the bicycles in the van and we took off to the Hammock for the morning.
I have to admit that I have become very laxidasical about carrying my camera. But I did get a few good shots with my cell.
The kids spotted a baby alligator and were able to watch him for quite a while.
It was such a great day, not too hot and no bugs!
The kids told me later that the highlight of their day. Silly me, I thought it might be having the day off of school. Nope. It was the opportunity to sit in a parked school bus that was waiting on kids that were at the Hammock on a field trip. I’m sure the bus driver thought Sugar Belle was crazy when she asked if they could look inside, explaining that they had never been in a school bus.
Apparently he made their day :)
When we finished up at the Hammock we took some subs out to the shop and had lunch with Mr. OverKill.
It was a great day, and a much needed break.
How do you break away from your daily rut routine?
