This year Christmas seemed to be a bit of a low key affair. It was AWESOME! I never felt rushed or stressed, and I was able to really soak in the day.
Of course we had the traditional new Christmas Eve pjs.
On Christmas morning, we slept in! I know, cra-zy! While I made breakfast, the kiddos opened their stockings. After breakfast and reading the Christmas story, we let the kids dig into the gifts.
Bubba was particularly animated this year….
Little Man with his new watch.
See what I mean?
Animated.
Shug and the ring she got from Mr. OverKill and I.
Tootle and her new watch.
Here’s Mr. OverKill with his gag gift :)
We have a running joke with Pastor T that one day Mr. OK will just go ahead and get a Snuggy to bring to church, so he can get a really good nap. When I found this one in a $1 bin, I couldn’t resist.
After our gifts were all exchanged, we gathered our things and headed out to my parents place. Mom had everything decorated so nicely, and we had a wonderful and relaxing time.
Good thing too, because 3 days later Mr. OverKill came down with the flu. Let’s just say our New Year’s was very low key. The highlights were that Mr. Ok ate a full meal and then we took the kids to Dairy Queen.
I did remember the sparklers though…on New Year’s day. The kiddos had a ball with them.
And now…the New Year to conquer ;)
