Don’t you hate it when you have 9 homeschool evaluations the next day and you run out of ink?
No, just me??? Ok, so maybe it’s a coupon you need to print, or a paper for school.
Any who….I refuse to pay full price for ink. I buy my ink from an internet company called CompandSave.com. I’ve never had a bad experience, and even their customer service is great. All that to say, it takes me a couple days to get replacements for my ink.
The point is, I really needed to print some documents, but my printer WILL NOT print anything if any color is out. So, I looked around online for a hack and found a great one!
So apparently, with my printer, a Brother, it monitors ink levels by passing a light or laser through the window on the cartridge. By putting some type of dark tape over the window, you can trick your printer into printing.
Awesome, no? I used blue painters tape, others have used duct tape with great success.
Of course you don’t want to do this long term, as you could potentially damage the printer heads. But what a great temporary hack….
