Do you get frustrated when your plans don’t work out exactly the way you would like? I know I do! You see, I have a timeline running in my head of how things in my life should go. But remember this?
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
It’s SO true!
I get over-focused on my schedule and my plans, that when they don’t work out I think my life is falling apart. How foolish am I!?!
I am coming to realize that the Lord is trying to teach me about His timeline. Things that I view as setbacks are not necessarily setbacks…. Sometimes, the things I view as setbacks are the Lord’s way of arranging my life to His timeline. And how much better is His timeline than mine? Oh, His timeline is filled with so many unexpected blessings, and beautiful providential encounters!
For example, who would have imagined when gazing upon this image, that all hope was not lost, rather it was just being found?
I have begun reminding myself when things do not according to my plans, that the Lord’s ways are better than mine, and the He has great things in store for me! This is no easy endeavor for me….I am a planner, a list maker, and I live by my calendar. But it has been neat, the more I remind myself to accept God’s timeline with joy, whether I feel the joy or not, the easier it becomes, day by day.
Easier….not easy ;)
