Pinterest….sigh… isn’t it fun? Sometimes, I actually make the things I pin. And, it has been really fun to dress up my bookshelf. I enjoyed the Thanksgiving/Fall display I made so much, I have just kept it going, a Christmas theme, then a winter theme, and now Valentine’s Day.
I really like that this display is clean and simple. Granted, I should probably switch out my green candle to white, but I don’t have a white one, and I refuse to pay full price for one :) I also like that this display was super cheap to make. I probably spent $3.00 on the whole thing, mostly on the roses for the kissing ball. Truly, the kissing ball was the only new thing I made for this display. It was super easy!!!! You simply use a whiffle ball as the base, and hot glue one rose into each hole in the whiffle ball.
I left the bottom of my whiffle ball empty, because I wanted to make sure it would sit properly on my stand. But, if you choose to fill yours completely, you would also want to hot glue a ribbon to use to hang the kissing ball.
That’s “the good.”
The bad, is that now when I go to garage sales or thrift stores, I think….could I somehow craft/upcycle/“pinterest” that….it’s not healthy.
The ugly….the ugly is when everyone within a hundred mile radius is trying to make the same craft from Pinterest, and you can’t find any RED FELT!!!
Serenity now!
Just kidding, look where that got him :)
Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day?
You are GOOD. I don’t really decorate for Valentine’s Day – I used to… yes, I’ve gotten out a few little things and put them on the mantle, changed the flag outside and put up my wreath, but that’s about it. You’re inspiring me!
Well, we have an extra excuse to celebrate, it’s also our anniversary :)
