Remember me saying how I stayed away from Pinterest for quite a while because I had a feeling it would become addictive?
Yeah….an intervention might be in order ;)
Nah, it’s not that bad… is it?
Oh well…
It has been good for me. You know why? Because I am a creative person…and I like making small details special. I kind of stopped expressing myself that way over the last few years for a number of reasons. I’m sure 4 babies in 5 years might have had something to do with it….
So yeah, Pinterest has been good for me.
When I took down my Christmas decorations I really wanted to keep some special decorations around the house. Some of which are these two wreaths.
Not so much Christmassy, but definitely winterish.
(Don’t you love it when I make up words?)
Simply because it thrills me how cheap these crafts turned out, I have to share with you. I picked up the wreath at a garage sale for 50 cents. It was brown, so I used spray paint I had on hand and painted it white. The entire spool of ribbon was also purchased at a garage sale for 25 cents. The only thing I paid retail for was the felt, roughly $2.00 total. So, my grand total on this wreath was $2.75. ;)
Moving on. I picked up a brand name sweater at a garage sale for $1.00. I used it to make a pair of “fake” boot socks(you know to go with my fake boots;). But then I had a bunch of pretty sweater left over. I was noodling on ways to use it and settled on a winter wreath for the front door.
Aren’t the rosettes cute? I love how they turned out. I have a bit of fabric leftover…I may make another to wear in my hair!
This one is another frugal project. I found this wreath at the same garage sale for 50 cents also. The sweater, eh let’s call it 50 cents, since I did use it on two projects ;) So this one broke the bank at an even buck.
Can’t beat that!
What are you crafting up???
