I feel the need to apologize…it’s been a slow posting week due to having a Week O’ Fun :)
This week I decided that we needed a little down time and a lot of fun. We’ve been hitting the books hard, and are actually ahead of where we need to be to finish school on time this year. I pulled out my file and gathered the necessary supplies for our “Week O’ Fun.”
One of my filed projects was “Candy Sushi,” super easy and super fun!
Candy sushi is an assortment of gummy candies rolled in a Rice Krispy treat, and wrapped with Fruit by the Foot.
I read that it was best to make the Krispies with a few extra mallows so they wouldn’t be too crispy. It’s also best to roll the Rice Krispy treats out very flat, so the sushi won’t be too bulky. I laid everything out on the table and let the kids have at it (after a few instructions of course).
Punk! He’s snacking!
Here’s a little step-by-step view, courtesy of Sugar Belle and Bubba.
Lay the gummy worms across one end of the flat Rice Krispy treat…
and roll it up.
Then, sneak a bite of gummy worms….
and, realize you’ve been busted! :)
Next, using the biggest knife you can find (not really, but you know boys) cut the roll into serving size pieces.
Finally, wrap the cut pieces in Fruit by the Foot.
When you’re all done, if your mom is slightly neurotic about pictures, she will make you take your sushi rolls outside so she can get good pictures in natural light.
Humor her, it will pay off one day.
Ha ha, smarty pants!
What fun! I highly recommend this activity, especially if you have another family to share them with ;)
