It’s been quite a while since I posted any pics from our beach trips….of course it has also been a while since we went to the beach….at least a year! I believe my first beach post was back in ‘08, “Just Beachy.” I took a look at that post…and wow, have my kids grown!
Sigh….
Anywho, we took off after church and headed to our favorite beach on Anna Maria Island.
We had found a great deal on tubes, so everyone had one to float on. What fun!
Silly girl…
Silly boy!
We found some interesting shells this time around.
Ah…my Love.
This kid cracked me up. He was determined to find a shark tooth, and he sat there forever, right where the waves were breaking trying to find one. And the waves didn’t seem to bother him a bit.
See?
I do believe that was sheer joy on his face….
Then, he and Bubba took to laying in the surf…
Bubba looks a little worried…
Nah, he’s fine.
Ah…my Love again…
The kids got tired of me taking their picture, because it’s so taxing for them (yeah right!)
So, I took pictures of the surf, the sand, the seaweed, and just played around in general. What a treat!
The obligatory Frazzled Mama Toes ;)
What a great time we had!
You know what? I didn’t want to go. I think I have gotten into the habit of being in “survival mode.” I realized that I have been holding back from life because things have been so crazy for us the last couple of years. I have been holding back because of an unfounded fear that I might have a panic attack….or that someone would get hurt…or that I simply might get worn out and not be able to take care of my responsibilities throughout the week. The crazy thing is, I didn’t even realize I was doing it.
So, just a friendly reminder from the Frazzled Mama, don’t stay in survival mode. Sometimes it is necessary, but we were never meant to live in survival mode.
On that note, I am going to make some plans to hit Venice Beach in a couple weeks, so Little Man can find that shark tooth!
