I found some super cute curtains at a thrift store a few months ago, for only a couple bucks. I did have a picture of them, but when my computer crashed….well, let’s just not talk about that right now. I thought I might be able to use them in my kitchen, but they didn’t look quite right.
Then, I decided I would try to make a pillow case purse from them. I loved the embroidery design on the fabric too much to just let them go back to the thrift store. Do you know what a pillow case bag is? Check it out…

I made one of these for the girls out of pink John Deere fabric a few years ago. They still love and use it :)
Back to my story, I thought I might be able to use the fabric to make a bag like this because the curtains were made at an angle, sort of like this…
Well…that didn’t work out so well, and I ended up just putting the fabric away and thinking on what I could do with it.
A few weeks later I realized that I needed a new bag for my laptop. My new laptop is a bit larger than my old one, and the rag bag I was using was just not quite large enough.
So, I pulled the fabric back out last week and gave it another shot. I have to say, I am quite pleased with the result.
I made the straps from the hem of the curtains (I wish I could find those pictures, but we won’t talk about that now). Here’s a better pic of the bag…
and the embroidery I love so much….
I gave the bag a little quilt batting to help protect the laptop. I also added the buttons, thought it gave the bag… a little extra something.
So, you tell me, is that recycling or upcycling???I don’t really care, I just love my spiffy new computer bag!
SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I am having a little pang of jealousy right now…
