There has been an interesting phenomena happening in our home over the last few weeks…for some reason, suddenly, unexpectedly….we keep running out of food at dinner time.
Oh sure, I’ve seen it coming there haven’t been leftovers in months.
But this past weekend we went camping, and guess what? We ran out of food!!! Not good when you are camping. Having your own food is kind of a necessity. Oh sure, we managed with some extra dessert and a trip to Moe’s (Welcome to Moe’s!!!)
And there it is, one more sign that my kiddos are growing up…getting bigger…eating more! Mr. OverKill told me that when he was a teenager, he would eat a loaf of bread…in a day! Really!?!?!?! In case you aren’t aware, we will have 4 teenagers in our home at one time! That’s four loaves of bread a day, if the apples don’t fall far from the tree.
Oh, and don’t get me started on apples. The amount of fruit we already go through around here is incredible. I can only imagine…it’s a good thing I learned about smart shopping and couponing when I did!
Ahhh but they are worth it. So what if Mr. OverKill and I are penniless when they are grown, they will just have to be our retirement….3 months a year at each kid’s house…that’s doable, right?
These pics are from Father’s Day. The kiddos recited Psalm chapter 1 for Mr. OverKill this year.
I remember seeing Stephen sitting down at the table in Naranja with a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter after school….and he would down the whole thing! Well, the whole loaf…it probably took him a week to eat a jar of PB. Jordan is home this summer and eats a full meal in between each meal I fix….your future is at the grocery store, my dear!
Yes, I fear it is! I told Mr. OK tonight, I guess I will start doubling all meals. At least that way we can have leftovers for lunches again…sigh…
