All right all my southern states readers, what’s important about September 1st? If you answered “The beginning of backpack safety month” you would be right, but not relevant.
How about “Libya’s Revolution Day?” Again, correct, but irrelevant.
If you shouted “Conway Twitty’s birthday!” you would be right, but really, really, irrelevant :)
September first is the day that you should be putting seeds or young plants in your garden! Remember?
My poor garden has been sorely neglected this summer. Something about…not feeling well??? Yeah. So, when I realized that the first was only two days away, I headed out to the garden. This is the sight I was met with…
take a deep breath, it will get better :) right after is gets worse.
Boy did I have my work cut out for me!!! Isn’t it amazing how 8 weeks can change a garden???
Fortunately, it didn’t take me too long to get things looking much….tamer.
Now, it is all ready for some fresh dirt, and my fertilizer….and then some seeds!
By the way….
Did you feel it? In the air this morning was the distinct feel of FALL! It’s coming guys and girls, it’s coming! I love, love, love, the first feel of Fall. I makes me want to get my hands in the dirt, pull weeds, and plant tiny seeds. All the while anticipating the fruits (or veggies) of my labors.
Ahhh, Fall.
I so wish we were in FL!!! My garden is screaming “end of season” and I’m so disappointed it has to end. :(
Ahhhh….but you’ve been gardening all summer!
