I finally was able to talk to the Doc today. My test results were interesting to say the least.
Here’s the diagnosis summary:
- Tissue damage in the intestines and symptoms of food related allergy. Translation, basically I now have Celiac Disease, not just a gluten sensitivity. Now, I have to really crack down and have NO gluten at all, which will be interesting since it lurks just about every where.
- I have NO good bacteria in my system. None, zilch, zip, nadda.
- I have 2 bacterial infections. I causes….diarrhea, big shocker! The other eventually will cause pneumonia.
- I also have a parasitic infection. Loverly.
And now, for the plan of action:
- A Rx of Cipro to kill of the bacterial infections.
- A Rx of anti-parasite meds to kill of the parasites.
- High does of probiotics until further notice.
So, there you have it. The Doc also said, it will probably get worse before it gets better. And you know what, I am OK with that, as long as it gets better. I am also OK with the Celiac diagnosis. I was kind of expecting that since there is a high correlation of Graves disease and Celiac. I am thankful that, even though it is a lot to deal with at one time, it can be dealt with.
As Ms. Elaine would say, now you know what I know. Scary, isn’t it?
There is also a high correlation of Celiac and Lupus. AND they can both be hereditary. It probably wouldn’t hurt to get your children gradually on the Celiac diet. It would certainly make meals easier.
p.s. this doesn’t surprise me. with the symptoms you have shared and other info, having this in some distant family of my own, I figured this was coming. I am sorry you have to deal with it, but once figured out, you’ll be fine.
Yeah, I was kind of expecting it. So, now just the transition will be a bit challenging.
People with lots of alternatives seldom see miracles.
Don’t forget that God is still in the healing business!
(I’m not suggesting that you DON’T do a celiac diet…just don’t forget where you ultimate healing will lie)
Love you! And I’m SO sorry for your struggles..but thankful for your journey :)
