A friend sent me this article from the LA Times addressing the link I posted yesterday from the government. The “clarification” that says the government will ease up on the restrictions and not require thrift-type stores to test their products for lead, but
“Although testing is not required, agency spokeswoman Julie Vallese emphasized that secondhand shops cannot sell products that exceed the lead limits and should avoid products that may contain lead.”

So, it’s still going to be illegal to sell items that exceed the limit, so where does that really put shop owners? Will they just plead ignorance? I didn’t have to test it, so I didn’t test it, so I really don’t know if it exceeds the legal limits, so…I plead ignorance??? They need to be more specific!
