Tootle Bug, as you know, started playing violin in January.
Her teacher is an awesome lady, who is so talented at playing and teaching! She told me when I first called about lessons that she doesn’t like to start kids in violin until they are eight. Uh-oh, I thought…Tootle’s only six. So we chatted about it and I told her how Tootle has wanted to play since she was three. We decided that she would start lessons on a trial basis and she how things went.
After about 3 weeks, I thought, there is no way she is going to let her continue lessons. However, her teacher said she was doing extremely well, especially considering her age.
So, we have continued. Well, this is recital season, and Tootle’s teacher decided that she should play “Mary Had a Little Lamb” in the recital. She kept making a big deal out of it, how she doesn’t usually let her younger students participate, etc. etc. She really pumped Tootle up!
So, the day of the recital came, and Little Man started throwing up. Good grief!!! So, Mr. OverKill took Tootle and the other kids down for the recital and I stayed home with Little Man. Talk about breaking a mother’s heart. I told Mr. OK that I felt like I had worked as hard as she had :)
Mr. OverKill said that Tootle’s teacher, again, made a big deal about her youngest student and how this is the smallest violin that has ever played in one of her recitals….how precious!
Please forgive the video quality….
She did a good job! Mr. OverKill and my mother just went on and on about how well she did!
Little peanut!

We are proud of you Tootle Bug, keep up the good work!!!
