“Why does it seem my "big girl panties" are the only ones I get to put on anymore!??!?!?!” –The Frazzled Mama via Facebook and Twitter.
Lots of comments on that one :) But that seems to be the kind of week month I’ve been having. It all started with the stomach flu. Which hit each of the kids for about 10 hours, except Toole Bug. Boy, did she ever rub that in too. She kept saying. "Ewww, that’s so gross…Is that wet spot from Bubba puking?” I finally lost it with her and said “You need to be nice because in about 5 minutes, you are going to be throwing up too.” Alas, she never did….the punk.
Then, I got the stomach flu and couldn’t get rid of it! I ended up with it for 5 days!!! Not fun people. Adding insult to injury, having the stomach flu also made it impossible for me to go to the Operation Christmas Child conference in Atlanta. What a bummer! My partner in crime still went without me…Again, adding insult to injury…we had joked about the rental car we were having to get, and how we needed a convertible, because we needed to go in style. Guess what my partner in crime drove to Atlanta without me….you got it, a convertible.
Can I just say, that I have NEVER ridden in a convertible, much less driven one.
Back to my big girl panties.
What topped it off was a call from my doctor saying that my vitamin D levels were in the toilet, hence the reason I had the flu for 5 days! Meanwhile, why do I live in Florida????Apparently not for the vitamin D.
Add to that the stresses of everyday life, homeschooling, leadership positions, fleas, and some things we are attempting to help a friend through….
It’s tempting to take these “big girl panties” off, if only for a minute and throw myself on the floor and have a good old-fashioned temper tantrum. But somehow, I think my heavenly Father might just snatch me up and give me a good old-fashioned spanking.
I think I’ll stick with the big girl panties….
for now.
Maybe this shirt should be my next giveaway :)
glad you are feeling better, have a wonderful, sunshine, vitamin D, filled day!!!
