Yeah! My computer is working again! I only had to be without it over the weekend. A nice thing happend though, while I was without my main computer. I started playing with an old laptop that my Mom gave me a while back. Initially we thought we would let the kids use it. But, they very promptly made one of the keys on the keyboard come off. So, yeah they don’t get to use it anymore. Back to the point. I found out that this laptop will work great for surfing the internet and checking email. Even better, I can get a wireless card for it! So, I started checking into getting a wireless router, and what do you know, my computer guy had one laying around! So, I am off to pick up a wireless card today, so that I can get my “new” laptop up and running. I have been bugging Mr. OK for a laptop this year, for Christmas. But I think the Lord may have just provided me with a free laptop that will work perfectly for what I wanted, I can surf the net, while Mr. OK is watching yet another PBS special. (There was a really cool one on last night about Annie Oakley, but don’t tell him I said that :)
So, I almost forgot to let you all know that I turned in the letter and petition signer’s names to Publix on Wednesday. I wasn’t able to speak with the manager, but I did speak with the assistant manager. I basically told him what was in the letter, and he seemed to understand where I was coming from, and even said that a kid-friendly aisle would be a good idea. He said he never thought about it before and that he would ask the district manager if that is an option they have. Sometime it’s hard to tell with people, like managers that deal with complaits from people all day, if he was just trying to make me happy and get me on my way, or if he was genuine. I like to think he was genuine, we shall see!
So after a nice break from Errand day, I am back on the road with all the kids today. Not to bad of a list though, WalMart (school supplies are half of the clearance price right now), Office Depot, Publix and, if I have any patience left, Micheals.
