We have made these ornaments a few different times. Usually we keep them, but this year, I do believe they are going to be gifts. The kiddos each made one to give away.
Here is the finished product:
This is one that I made to show the kiddos what we were going to be doing. I found the glass ornament at Pier One. I thought it had a neat shape.
So, basically what you do is pick up some plain glass ornaments.
You can usually find these pretty inexpensively at crafting stores. The best place to get them is Dollar Tree…2-3 ornaments for a dollar…that’s frugal!
Carefully take the top off of the ornament and set it aside – you will need it later.
Next, you pour paint into the ornament.
Pour sparingly…then swirl the ornament around to distribute the paint. You will want to use more than one color to make the ornament interesting.
Once you have the look you want on your ornament, you need to turn it upside down in a cup to dry…overnight preferably.
We had tons of these plastic cups and no disposables, so…my point is disposable is better, because the excess paint is going to run out of the ornament and into the cup. When it is all dry, reattach the top, and you are done!
These always turn out so nice, and the kiddos have fun making them and I would venture to say, you would enjoy making them too!
