Whenever I give a gift, I try really hard to make some part of it hand-crafted by me. With this in mind, I was searching for a simple gift card envelope that I could make at home. I found this tutorial over at Sunny Stampin’ and really loved the outcome. What cracks me up though is me. I am not really big into paper crafts, and really only had about a 1 year career in scrapbooking back in 1999. (I am a little behind things in the paper craft world.) So I did my best to follow the tutorial without all the fancy paper craft gadgets.
So, I cut my paper with my paper cutter (that I do have!).
And then I prepare to score the paper. Yes, I know it’s a cutting board from my kitchen. Hey, it was clean! And I washed it afterwards! Use what you have.
Then, I just freehanded the cuts for the tab that will hold the envelope closed. Again, I don’t have that fancy punch.
Next, it said to use a punch to cut a half circle out of the other side…hmm. what could I used that’s roughly an inch…. as yes, this will do nicely!
Ok all you serious paper crafters, go ahead laugh at me, I can take it. I will relish the thought that I am contributing to your mental well-being.
I thought it came out just fine!
And the end result wasn’t too bad either. Actually I was really pleased with how these turned out!
Shhhh…don’t tell, someone’s getting Starbucks!
Thank you Andrea for a great tutorial!
