We used to make these shirts every year. But a couple years ago the kiddos were over it, so we quit making them. Well, this year they wanted to make them again, and of course I was on board!
You start by putting some aluminum foil in the shirt to keep the paint from seeping through to the back of the shirt.
Then, smooth out the t-shirt and the foil.
Now, flip the t-shirt upside down.
I like to put the paint on a paper plate.
Paint one of your kiddo’s hands. You want to start at the bottom of the t-shirt (while it’s upside down). I find it helpful to put a pin at the bottom of the shirt to mark the center of the shirt. You make 4 handprints across the bottom of the shirt. The next row gets 3, then 2, then 1.
You may need to apply pressure to the hand that is making the print.
Here is the finished…bare tree.and a ham bone :)
After allowing the shirts to dry thoroughly, you can decorate them with whatever kind of paint you want, glitter, puffy…use your imagination.
Here are some of our finished products…
I wanna say this is Little Man’s.
Sugar Belle’s.
Tootle Bug’s.
Bubba made one too, but the pics were no beuno.
All in all, a fun craft for the kiddos, that needs minimal help from mom (yeah!). Plus it wasn’t very expensive, all 4 shirts and supplies totaled about $15.00, or $3.75 each.
