What a day. And it’s only half finished…
Do you ever feel like you are on overload? The following questions were put to me this week.
“When your mind wanders, what does it usually get stuck on? a. thinking of ways to get back at someone. b. worrying about things people did to me. c. the amazing God I serve.”
and
“When I lie in bed, I usually think about : a. the bad parts of my day, b. how to get back at people, c. all the things that I am thankful for.”
Now that second question just made me laugh. When I lie in bed, I don’t think about anything, I fall asleep. Sometimes I even fall asleep before I get into bed.
But the first question….I don’t think of any of those things, because I am usually thinking about what happens next. For example….
Ok, Tootle is a dance class, now we can go home and tidy up before picking her up. Then, we can grab her and I need to swing by the library and return that book. Then, drop the kiddos of at Mr. OverKill’s parents, head home and get ready for date night.
Sorry for that trip into the Frazzled Mama’s head, I know it was scary.
I don’t think that I have too much going on. I do think that perhaps I think too much about what is coming next, and I forget to enjoy the moment. Which stinks in light of Tuesday’s post. I need to live in the moment…in a good way.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.Eccl. 3:1-8
Mr. OverKill said I need to stop and smell the roses. I will definitely have to try that…someday ;)
What!? Have you been in my brain? Just change the names and places! :)
