I wonder what happened to being a mom? Why is it so important that I find my identity in a career, or my “self-esteem” in weekly beauty rituals? It is so sad to me to see, in Christian circles that women are being encouraged to find themselves outside of the God-given social institution, the family. I am a wife and mother, but that’s only my earthly title. I am a daughter of the Most High King, a child of God Himself.
Galatians 4:3-7(NAS) says:
So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world. But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
God, my Father, my Abba, has placed me here in this small town, in this lovely home, with this man, and these four wonderful grandchildren of the King.
