Last year, I bought an eggplant plant. (Is that correct? Or would it just be Eggplant….hold on a sec.) Sorry, I guess that would be just an eggplant. Okay, now that we have that settled…
I had never grown eggplant before. I was very excited about the whole thing. I did research to make sure that I took care of the plant properly and that I fertilized it just right. It grew and grew and had tons of blooms….but no egg plants. Sorely disappointed, I pulled the plant up and figured, oh well. A few weeks later, I noticed some sprouts where the eggplant had been. Lo and behold, I had 3 or 4 new eggplants coming up from seeds. So, I figured, oh well it’s summer, I wasn’t going to grow anything there right now anyways, and I left them to themselves. A few weeks ago I went out and there was the tiniest bud of and eggplant….isn’t that COOL!
Now, I have several on the bush and all at various stages, including one that is in the refrigerator stage ;)
All these pictures represent produce currently on the plant.
Nice and glossy, this one is about ready!
They are growing in very interesting shapes too…
