I really wanted to be able to send Bubba to Word of Life Summer Camp this year. I really felt like it would be a good experience for him. He wanted to go last year, but I knew he wasn’t ready. The hitch is, that I would want to go with him as a chaperone.
Well, we all know how the economy is, and it just wasn’t in the budget for the two of us to go. I prayed about it, and figured that we just weren’t meant to go this year.
Until Saturday. On Saturday, my good friend Mrs. Doodle Bop called and said that her only other chaperone for camp is suddenly unable to go (for good reasons, her son is now in the Little League World Series). Mrs. Doodle Bop offered us the camper’s spot and the chaperone’s spot….no charge.
Of course, I immediately wanted to say yes, but remember those 3 other kiddos I have??? Well, I was really beginning to think that it wasn’t going to work out. My in-laws are out of town, and my Mom is working full time now….Even My Stubborn Nefew’s Mother had a busy week planning their church camp!
But this morning, the Lord worked it all out. The girls are going to go to a Summer Day Camp at our local Children’s Museum, and Little Man is going to hang out with my Mom at work.
Don’t you love God’s economy????
I am so excited, but now I have a TON of work to do getting everyone ready for next week.
Advice anyone? We’ve never done camp before!
