For the last three weeks or so, I have been going for a walk every day. Nothing intense, just about 30 minutes. I really love looking at houses, and so it’s been cool to see my neighborhood from a different perspective.
Because I am a big scaredy cat, I take my ferocious dog along with me.
Yeah.
But, I have discovered that he really is a good workout partner. When we start off, he is a tad more enthusiastic than I am about the walk, which motivates me to get movin. He also provides great opportunities for me to do some strength training for my arms. For example, he takes off to catch a cat, I stop him. He puts on the brakes to smell something interesting in the grass, and I have to pull him along.
He also reminds me near the end of the walk, that we need to slow down a bit, you know, to cool down before we are completley done.
Plus, he is an excellent example of proper hydration when we get home.
